Men are not that simple to please

It is said that men are simple creatures with only two needs. The first need is good food and the second need is bedroom play. I asked some men in my circles about this and the answers I got indicated that men are not that simple. Here is what I learned.

Understand your man by observing him and asking him what he needs from you. Men may not say everything that they need from you, but you can learn a lot by paying attention to his words and actions.

Show him respect. Sometimes we forget to show respect to those that we love when we are tired, angry or hungry. Don’t call him names or belittle him. Take his thoughts and opinions into consideration. Look at him when he talks to you and avoid interrupting him rudely during a disagreement. Be kind.

Tell him ‘thank you’ when he does something special for you. Compliment him to remind him about all the awesome things about him.

When you are with him, give him some attention by not spending too much time on your phone, on social media. Spend this time showing him some affection such as cuddling, kissing and holding hands. Men like to feel loved and wanted too.

Treat your man like a king, but don’t turn into his mum. Do nice things for him, but don’t cater to his every small need, like he is a two-year-old. Don’t turn yourself into his servant.

Be his peace. Life can get stressful. There are too many demands. It is important to create a safe and peaceful haven for you and your man.

Be there for him. Men need someone they can talk to. Let him know that it is safe to confide in you. Give him space to be human. Sometimes he is afraid, sometimes he is angry. Sometimes he fails. Allow him to vent.  After that, say some encouraging words to him. Support him and tell him that he can accomplish his dreams.

Respect his time. No matter how much you enjoy his company, remember that he cannot spend all his free time with you. He also has to go to work and socialise with his other friends. Allow him to also engage in his other commitments. This means that you also need to have a life that is separate from him.

Treat yourself like a queen. If you treat yourself with love and respect, your partner will feel like a king. Maintain your physical appearance and be kind to yourself. Do not allow him to disrespect you. Communicate to him openly when there is a problem and tell him when you are not happy about something he did or said to you.
