Two People Killed After Quarry Collapses In Meru

Two people were killed and two others injured after a quarry where they were working collapsed on them in Imenti South, Meru County.According to witnesses, the stone the workers were cutting at Uuku Quarry slipped and fell on them.

Confirming the incident, Imenti South Police Commander William Maronga said the four people were rushed to Nkubu Consolata Hospital but two were pronounced dead on arrival.

The police commander has called on the relevant authorities to check on the safety measures passed by the security team on the safety of Quarry Sites and Operators.
